Well known facts:

• carbohydrate feeding before, during and after competition improves endurance-performance in running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, soccer etc! 

Not well known facts:

• 99% of the brain's energy comes from blood glucose
• the brain has only 2% of our body-weight but needs up to 20 – 30% of total energy consumption!
